Senator Hughes (PA General Assembly) supports re-treeing neighborhoods in Philly.

This is something to which I have brought attention during the past year. I noticed that in the 60's, 70's and early 80's West Philly and Southwest Philly were replete with trees. Then as the 80's progressed the trees were cut precipitously. In the late 80's, following the decrease in trees, Philly began to see a rise in respiratory conditions such as bronchitis and asthma. Now, everybody wants this "Green" economy. This so-called "Green" economy is not natural: wires, ether, electric vehicles, charging stations, etc. The "Green" economy should actually be called the Silver economy since it is merely a transfiguration of the Black-Gold economy (i.e. coal and oil). In fact, the "Green" economy is not feasible without Black-Gold. What's more green and more healthy than the natural green that we eliminated in the 80's.

Let's develop the Green Economy (which is really the Silver Economy)! Also, let's make Philly green and healthy again by planting trees in the neighborhoods and promoting natural green curb appeal throughout our city!
