I hear "minorities", particularly Black-Americans, complain about the policies in effect that systemically marginalize and oppress them. Then, when one looks at who they elect into office, one must rub his or her chin in bewilderment. You get more of whatever you reward. For example, the majority party that has governed Philadelphia for the last 50 years continues to be returned to power by the very "minorities" which complain of marginalization and oppression. Rewarding that party with the power of governance in Philadelphia will only produce more marginalization and oppression of "minorities". If there is only one supermarket in Mayberry then the Citizens of Mayberry are "up the creek without a paddle".
