August 2019 North Philly Standoff with the Philadelphia PD

The Philadelphia PD managed the trying and stressful situation North Philly Standoff in August 2019 very well. Police Commissioner Ross maintained commendable composure and provided note worthy leadership.

In the meantime, the challenge for Philadelphia is addressing the root of the City's drug and gun problem. The root of the City's drug and gun problem is two-pronged: 1) lack of gainful lifestyle sustaining employment and 2) an educational system that underserves the "minority" and poor population.

If those issues are not resolved, then the City's "minority" and poor will be faced with essentially two options: 1) being dependent on public funds or 2) being involved in a lifestyle of riff-raff or crime.
