It is not the responsible alcohol drinker or alcoholic that causes problems. It is the irresponsible alcohol drinker or alcoholic that brings down the community or becomes the social pain in the neighborhood. Yet, since Prohibition, the politicians have not passed any law that prohibits people from having or recreationally using alcohol. However, politicians are quick to call for gun control. we already have gun control; the laws that already exist to regulate firearms. Mind you, it is not the law-abiding gun owner or user that is the problem. It is the thug, the criminal and the irresponsible gun owner or user that is the problem. The person who is supposed to put in data about an individual who is not fit to own or use a firearm; but, fails to do so. That is a critical problem. The gun dealer who fails to run a background check or ignores data that would prohibit someone from obtaining a gun; but, still sells the firearm. That is a critical problem. The straw-purchase transaction by someone who can legally buy a firearm. That is a critical problem. It is not that policy related to guns can't use some tweeking. For example, high school students that are extreme discipline problems should be flagged and such history should visible in a background check for that person if he or she seeks to own a firearm. That same information should be deleted when the person reaches a specified age sometime after he or she has reached age 18. So, just as our society should promote responsible use of alcohol; it must also promote responsible firearm use and ownership
